Season 2025/26 Part 2
All our volunteers had arrived, and once again we ended up with a fantastic crowd. It didn't take long for camp life to settle into its familiar rhythm of climbing, shared meals, and plenty of laughter. With Son stepping away from management and Fai working remotely from Bangkok, Matti and Flora stepped in to help run the camp. Their support made a huge difference during a season that demanded flexibility from everyone.
After losing all our climbing equipment in the fire last season, one of the biggest milestones was receiving support from our new sponsor, Beal. Getting gear into Laos is far from straightforward. Shipping costs are high, import taxes are steep, and even sponsored equipment comes with a significant bill. Still, when nine boxes filled with ropes, harnesses, helmets, and hardware finally arrived, it felt like Christmas.

For the first time since the fire, we could stock our newly built gear room and offer guests some of the finest climbing ropes on the market. Seeing the shelves full again after months of improvisation was deeply satisfying.
We also started regular climbing sessions for our Lao staff. Watching their confidence grow on the rock was just as rewarding as rebuilding the camp itself. After everything that had happened, it felt incredibly good to hand our guests excellent rental equipment again and know we were back to providing the experience we had always wanted to offer.
