Khon Kaen Climbing Development
We’re excited to see climbing development progressing in Khon Kaen, in Thailand's Isaan region-just across the border from Green Climbers Home in Laos. Isaan is one of Thailand's least developed regions, so it's especially encouraging to see a project that not only creates new climbing opportunities but does so in close cooperation with the local community and the National Park authorities.
For many years, climbing in Thailand has existed in something of a legal grey zone. Projects like this show that sustainable access is possible when everyone works together. We hope it creates a more stable future for climbers, local businesses, homestays, route developers, and the wider climbing community. A great example of how responsible crag development can benefit everyone.
If you'd like to support the project, there are many ways to help, including gear donations, volunteering, or other contributions. You can find more information on their website below.

You can also support the project by buying a shirt from Poda Wear. The designs are beautiful and unique. They donate 10% of every sale to climbing development, and they're also the company behind the shirts we sell at Green Climbers Home.
While we haven't been involved in this project ourselves, we believe it's an important milestone for climbing in Southeast Asia, and we're looking forward to seeing it grow.
