One of our long-term goals is to add more climbing destinations to the Thakhek Loop and help turn it into a true climbing loop. While most visitors know the Loop for its caves, viewpoints and motorbike riding, there are plenty of places worth stopping for a few hours along the way.Song Sa Waterfall is one of them.

Located on the eastern side of the Loop, Song Sa is about 1.5 hours from Green Climbers Home and makes an easy stop when travelling towards Tha Lang and Kong Lor. The waterfall is reached by a short walk from the parking area. The area is covered with large sandstone boulders, small waterfalls and a series of shallow pools. Depending on the season and water level, there are plenty of spots to swim, cool down or simply sit in the water for a while before continuing the journey. It is a simple place to stop, stretch your legs and escape the heat of the road and worth a day trip from GreenClimbers. You can rent crash pads in our camp for the trip

We visited Song Sa earlier this year and put together a short video so you can see the area for yourself.
