We are open and rebuilding!!!

the reconstruction of the Green Climbers Home is going well – thanks to the great support of friends, family and climbers of all over the world:
Meanwhile we can offer 3 bungalows (those huts which survived the fire) and also 12 beds in the new dormitory. Tents are still available.

We will be open until the end of May when we close down the camp during the rainy season for 4 months.

Further we are working on bolting new routes and opening new climbing walls. We have already 150 routes from easy to difficult!

GREEN CLIMBERS HOME BURNED DOWN!

Many of you may know already: on New Year’s Eve our beloved climbing camp „Green Climbers Home“ burned down. No one of our guests or our personnel got injured! But the camp is almost completely destroyed. Only left are the clothes we were wearing and what we could quickly grab when fleeing the flames...

The Rock climbing camp GREEN CLIMBERS HOME in Thakhek/Laos. 

The climbing area near Thakhek called "Pha Tam Kam" is hidden in a small valley which ends in the backside of the beautiful Xiengliab Cave, 12 km outside from Thakhek. It was Volker and Isabelle Schöffl who led a group of 17 people to develop the climbing spot in 2010. They told us (that´s Tanja & Uli) about this climbing area while we were preparing our worldtrip. When we came to this beautiful spot for rock climbing in November 2010 we decided to stay and open a climbers camp. Fortunately we came in contact with Green Discovery Laos, Laos' pioneer in Adventure Travel and Ecotourism. Together we started the project in 2011. The rock climbing in Thakhek is awesome: you find wonderful routes with tufas, sintering and face climbing. The gigantic roof with routes ranging from 6b+ to around 9a is unique.

 

So far there is a total of 110 routes ranging from 4 to around 9a. Whether advanced climbers or beginners, you will have a lot of challenge and amusement! 'Green Climbers Home' is placed directly next to the climbing sectors. And for sure we will make use of the endless potential in and around the climbing area for more and more routes! For the climbing beginners and advanced we offer climbing classes. For those who travel without climbing gear we can rent a harness, climbing shoes, a rope, quickdraws and a belay device.

• Cool off in the stream running through our beautiful cave,

directly adjacent to the camp

• Explore the caves around the Green Climbers Home

• Take our motorbikes, drive to Thakhek and see real non-tourism markets

• Rent a bicycle at our camp and discover the beautiful landscape of the province

Khammouane -> BICYCLE RENTAL

• Do some slacklining at our camp or

• Come with us to the nice swimming area "Tha Falang" and try to slackline

• Play frisbee or badminton on our badminton field

• Take a traditional Lao massage
